Month 8, Day 24: Generations

The picture below is of Grandpa Harr ("Papa") when he was one year old. Given Super-Size Max's build, we didn't want to wait until he was a year old before taking a picture of him in Papa's outfit. While we were able to squeeze Max into the romper, we weren't able to get him to smile. We'll try again another time!

Month 8, Day 24: Everybody Loves Max

Max and Mom returned to Missouri for a visit this week, where Max was loved, cuddled, and plied with toys. Everybody loves Max, including the dog.

Month 8, Day 12 - Hot Diggity

Boy, it's hot these days. So hot that Dad actually lets us run the A/C. Despite the heat, Max and Dad had some good times today - a nap in the high chair, a wagon ride, and some tummy raspberries. Max loved those tummy raspberries! (The goop on Max's face is from his encounter with a teething biscuit. Both Dad and Max had to rinse off in the shower afterwards)
Max's head gets so hot sometimes that Mom tries to cool it off by standing up his hair. We discovered we had a Billy Idol wannabe.

Max's "Billy Idol" smirk needs some work.

Here is Max, belting out "White Wedding"Whew, all that singing is hard work.
Below you can see a little bit of a heat rash on our chunky monkey's neck folds.

Month 8, Day 10 - Three's Company

Max's first upper tooth has poked through. That might explain the 4am - 6.45am fussy time earlier this week and all the chewing on Mom's chin.

Month 7, Day 28: The American-Russian Summit

Max (nearly 8 months) and his friend Aleksei (9.5 months) met up for lunch yesterday. This is the first time that they've been fully aware of each other, and the results were interesting. Leks has a very cute high-pitched squeal that he makes when he's happy. Max, on the other hand, was seemingly terrified by this and would go into a crying fit every time Leks did this. We suspect Leks eventually realized a cause/effect relationship and would squeal "for fun" to see what Max would do. Without fail, Max would start screaming. Weird.

While the only thing Russian about Leks is his name, we were reminded of Reagan-Gorbachev meetings.

Negotiations appeared to break down when President Max disagreed vehemently with President Aleksei on the issue of bailing out the baby food industry.
