Not Quite Snowmaggedon 2010

The fast and heavy snowfall last night didn't break the Snowmaggedon 2010 records, by any means. But it nonetheless wrecked havoc across the area, downing trees and turning the roads into jammed parking lots. Dad and Max were on the road for a crazy SIX hours (including a break to get dinner at Subway) for what should have been 40-minute commute. Max wasn't a happy camper to be stuck in his carseat for so long (and rained down a chorus of "I'm done. I'm done. I'M DONE!!"). He was in better spirits the next day when helping Dad shovel snow.

Wyatt's Interpretation of "Tummy Time"

Our parents didn't have to go through it for us, but today's parents are quite steeped in the "tummy time" routine and the need to build up those neck and torso muscles (or face admonitions from the pediatrician). Max hated tummy time, as did Wyatt. That is, until he discovered that he doesn't have to lift his head up. Instead, he's now taking it as an opportunity to catch some zzz's.

Sleep? What Sleep?

Dad's turn to "watch" Wyatt.

Mom and Max checking out the snow.

Wyatt looking cuddly in his teddy bear jacket (Thanks, Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Michael!).
Max watching his beloved "Cars," despite Wyatt's added sound effects.
Somebody needs a N-A-P...

An early morning photo shoot (too early for Mom's taste).

Daddy's Boys

And we're off to an exciting start in 2011

To commemorate Max's birth in 2008, we bought Nancy Tillman's "On the Night You Were Born" book and stamped Max's newborn feet on the inside page. For Wyatt, we got another Tillman book, "Wherever You Are, My Love Will Find You." Mom can barely read it without having a complete cry-fest. Below is a shot of Wyatt's feet just after stamping the book.
The Snooze Brothers

Grandma California holding Wyatt for the first time!

Max enjoying a bedtime story from Grandma.

"So... are we keeping him or not??"

Max is fond of giving Wyatt kisses. Mom will have to keep this picture handy to remind herself in the years to come that the boys didn't always fight and cause each other trouble.

Wyatt snoozing on Grandma.
Wyatt is plumping up. At his 2-week appointment, he weighed 10 lbs, 4 oz (90% percentile) - a gain of two lbs over his birth weight. Mom gives herself a pat on the back - those long, sleepless nights are paying off!

The community center holds an open gym once a week for tots to ride their bikes. Max was able to put the pedal to the metal (sort of) with his new trike.

Below Max looks on apprehensively as two tots crash their Batman big-wheels into each other.
We wish everyone a wonderful 2011!
