Do Babies Have More Fun?

Max seems to think that babies in general (and Wyatt, in particular) have more fun. So much fun that Max has started to adopt some Wyatt-like behaviors, such as trying out pacifiers, practicing tummy-time, and lounging in the bouncy chair. Which of course is way too small for a two year-old, but that doesn't deter Max from testing its weight limits while pretending to sleep and cry.

Wyatt smiles. A lot. But it's hard to capture on camera because every time we stick one in his face, he gets a big-eyed startled look. But we managed to get the shot below. Needless to say, I think we have another little boy who likes to look at himself in the mirror....

From Head to Toe

It's been a while since we had an exclusively "Wyatt" post. So for your viewing pleasure, here are some head-n-toe shots of our rapidly growing baby (already three months old!!).

Practicing how he plans to eat a Five Guys hamburger when he's a big boy!

And now for some toes...

Mom's High and Low

Today's low: Accidentally slamming a door on her finger.
Today's high: Getting a visit from Dr. Max, M.D., who kissed her finger and made it all better.

Late Nap or Early Bedtime?

With the warmer weather, Max has been on the go-go-go outside (while Wyatt often enjoys the view of the outside from the inside of our front door). The temp neared 80 degrees for the first time on Friday, so we treated ourselves to dinner in the enclosed patio. Max had a blast - if it were up to him, he'd eat and sleep out there! (and on the topic of sleep, keep reading...)

Wyatt practicing his pirate-eye squint. Argh, argh!

Max enjoying a little Pocoyo.

As mentioned above, Max loves being outside. With the great outdoors being just a door away at our house (instead of a door, down the hallway, down three flights of stairs, and down another hallway at our old apartment), he takes every chance he can to explore. Yesterday, he refused his nap and later went outside with Dad. When he came back in (which was against his will), Mom got him settled at the table with some joo-sh and started washing the dishes. A few minutes later, she was wondering why Max was unusually quiet. Turning around, she saw this:

At first, she thought Max was just looking at something out the window. But upon closer inspection, she determined that he was conked out. He slept for a solid 30 minutes in that position (and later, he migrated to the couch where he slept some more).

Mr. Manners

Max is a stickler for manners. Nine times out of ten, he will say thank you, unprompted, when you give him something (a very charming "Tank you!"). He's been doing this for a few months now, but recently he's been holding us accountable for our own manners. He will pepper you with "Tank you's," in ever increasing decibels, until you remember to say, "You're welcome!"

So here's a message for Max: "Tank you, tank you, tank you ... for being a wonderful little boy and a great big brother."

The Negotiator

At every meal time, the conversation goes like this:

Us: "Do you want milk or water?"
Max: "Joo-sh."
Us: "No. No juice. Do you want milk or water?"
Max: "Joo-sh."
Us: "No. Milk or water?"
Max: "Joo-sh."

And so on and so on...

Catching Up

Blogging has fell a bit to the wayside, so we have some catching up to do! Here Dad is trying to get Wyatt to stay asleep for the night...

Mom-n-Max quality time.

Mom has given up on keeping the house tidy.

Max is a funny funny man. When he discovered that we were amused by him wearing his plastic pants on his head, he insisted on running up and down the hall with them.

One of Max's activities at daycare was identifying his favorite toy ("what he likes to play with"). He didn't say something boring like cars, trains, or blocks...

Dad-n-Wyatt quality time.
