I AM A ROBOT

Dad took over the Halloween costume this year. Not only did he take over, but he took it to a completely new level. It was a month of evening work, crammed into three days. But he pulled it off - with working switches which operated flashing lights and sounds. Max and Wyatt were huge hits at daycare and around the neighborhood.
The early stages: a former plastic trash bin.

While Dad continued to work on the costume, Max and Wyatt worked out a plan for world domination.
Max doing a test run the night before in his pajamas (and striking his second best robot pose).

Getting fitted by Dad at daycare.
Wyatt admiring his lights in the mirror at daycare.
Wyatt wasn't too thrilled to wear the contraption at dacyare.
Max showing off his best robot pose (the one in which looks at you sideways and shoots you with a finger laser gun with sound effects). Notice that the tips of the wires on his helmet light up. Yes, dad's last minute inspriration!
Despite not wanting to wear the costume at daycare, Wyatt strutted his stuff for a whole hour around the neighborhood.
Max needed a break now and again. Whenever he got tired, he would curl his legs in and tuck his head in, like a turtle.

"I am a robot."
Enjoying the spoils of robot war with the family.

Fall at the Farm

It's not Mama and Papa's farm, but we got our farm fix at the Frying Pan this fall.

Field Day

We took the boys to DC's field day last month, where they zipped down inflatable slides, chased bubbles, climbed on fire engines, rode in the sidecar of a motorcyle, and at least for Max, had the first ever cotton candy.

Mom was sitting on the curb eating some chow when who rolled up but Wyatt and Max in the sidecar of a cop's motorcycle! Leave it to dad to let them get into trouble.

Max's first cotton candy. He was actually unsure what to do with it. But he didn't need much encouragement!

Max didn't leave much for Wyatt to work with when he handed over the cotton candy to Wyatt.

PJs with Feet Nights

It's time to dig out the pajamas with feet! Or rather, dig out the hand-me-downs for Wyatt and trek to Target for some news ones for Max. Only rocket ships would do for Max.

Here comes trouble. The boys like to get into our walk-in closet and rummage through the stuff, leaving wreckage in their wake.
