To the Farm Again

The weather over Thanksgiving weekend was so mild that we made a final trek to Frying Pan Park before the year was up. Now as I post these pictures two weeks later, it's a lovely 32 degrees outside. Brrrr.

Thomas (Need We Say More?)

Blogging has taken a backseat to the chaos of our nightly ritual of dinner, bath, and bed, and the weekends are a blur. Even remembering to grab the camera is an afterthought. But we did bring it along for our first roadtrip to Strasburg, Pennsylvania before Thanksgiving to take the boys to see Thomas. Max enjoyed his jaunts on the trains, but wasn't as bowled over as we thought he would be to see a life-sized "Really Useful Engine" (maybe Spencer would have gotten him excited). We got a rich lesson in the importance of sleep and routine for little boys (with Max's non-stop tantrums on the floor of a store in the mall and Wyatt joining in the chorus). Still, it was a memorable get-away.
We hit the road at 6am. Max didn't sleep a wink on the way there, despite the heavy eyes.

Getting tired, but still insisting that he wasn't.

Wyatt out cold on the chair of the hotel room.
Completely unrelated to the trip, but too cute not to post.

The Final Installment: Mighty Max and Wonder Wyatt

And finally, our last October installment wraps up with our Halloween festivities. Mighty Max (resurrected from Halloween 2009) and Wonder Wyatt joined forces to fight evil, take names, and gobble candy. To prevent identity theft, Wyatt alternated costumes. Gotta keep the bad guys on their toes, after all.
The dynamic duo goes over the plans for "Operation Thwart Evil."
Max showing off his super-hero cuffs.
Mwah-wah-haha!

Getting into "character."

Max's first encounter with a Milk Dud turned out to be a very slobbery experience.
Before breaking out his cape on Halloween, Wyatt donned some pumpkin-wear earlier in the week.

Installment 10 - Fishy Fishy

Max has been fascinated lately with anything that remotely looks like a hook (such as clothes hangers) and catching fish. So Dad got a magnet, some paper clips, fishing line, a yard stick, and construction paper. And presto, Max's very own fishing pond, complete with a blue boat (aka toy bucket). When Max kept insisting that "Daddy do it" (the fishing), an old rhyme from Mom's childhood came to mind:

Fishy fishy in a brook.
Daddy catch him on a hook.
Mommy fry him in a pan.
Baby eat him like a man.

Installment 9 - Our Cutie Pies

Installment 8 - Wyatt's Surgery

The ear tubes seemed to have helped with Wyatt's comfort levels, but he is still waking up way too many times at night!

A very sad and cranky little baby after surgery!
