Week 16 - Our Little Bath Gnome

Why did Max need a bath in the first place? To destroy evidence of a dead purple green-spotted elephant... It really had no chance against "Mad Max"

Week 15 - Max in Costume

Hmmm, can't figure out if he looks more like a dutch girl, a Spanish conqueror, or an Elvis impersonator... or whether it just looks like he has a diaper on his head.

Week 14 - Just Max

Here are some misc pictures from Max's life at 3.5 months By the way, Mom realized today how hard it is going to be to put Max in daycare in a month. She starting crying in the parking lot after touring one place.

Dad changing Max on a Saturday afternoon. I would have written "leisurely" afternoon, except it wasn't. Most of our weekend time is spent looking for places to rent.

"Houston, we're ready for take-off."

Hung-Over Max. "Oh, my head. Why did I have that last glass of milk?"

Let's be clear on one thing: Max hates tummy time. Mom has been growing concerned that maybe we haven't enforced it enough since Max hasn't rolled over yet. Today, Max indulged Mom by not screaming. While still no roll in sight, he does pretty good holding his head up.

Week 14 - Baby Doppelganger

Max has a Russian twin! We went to Ted's Montana Grill in Arlington, where we were seated next to another couple with a 5.5 mo-old baby boy, Aleksei. All of us, including the waitress, were surprised how alike the babies looked.
Max is the best baby in the world, and that's no bull! Seriously... that's a buffalo.

Late posted pictures from the big move from CA to VA. Below, Dad is wrapping our precious cargo in packing paper.

Week 14- Hair Club for Babies

Not only is Max the Hair Club president. He is a client too. Baby Rogaine? No chemicals for this baby! Instead he had some tasteful toupees made...

The "before" shot of Max with his hair stylist.
The "after" shot and winning look.
The not-so-winning looks...

Week 14 - Pieces of Max

Goodness, our baby is getting so big that we can't even take a picture of all of him at once. Instead we can only get bits and pieces of him...

Week 13 - Oh, So Exhausted!

Dad's magic touch: Max surprised us both when he INSTANTLY fell asleep when Dad picked him up from the play mat and put him on his shoulder. It was as if someone unplugged him!

To dispel the appearance that all Max does is sleep ("So not true!" protests Mom), here are some "awake" shots from the last week. Without fail, Max finds a way to get a glimpse of the TV. Here he is trying to distract Dad by pointing at his toy ("Hey, Dad, check this out!"), while sneaking a peek.

Week 13 - The Next Brad Pitt: The Early Years

Hit the arrow button to see Max in action! It may take a while for the video to play, but it is worth the wait.

We don't call him the "Kickin' Chicken" for nothing!

Week 13 - Sleepy-Time Max

Max has discovered that relocating across the country is hard work. He can barely keep his eyes open during a diaper change. This is one drunk baby.

Week 12 - Baby on the Move

March 1 (the early morning of the big move from CA to VA): We stuck post-its on the door to remind us of last minute items to pack...

Max's in-flight entertainment and food service

Max comforting Dad during the first landing in Chicago.

Our future fighter pilot? The pilot awarded Max his first wings for being such a good baby during the San Francisco-Chicago flight.

"Did someone say something about landing the plane in the Potomac River??"

Arriving at Dulles (Virginia), with 500 bags and a baby.

March 2 (just after midnight): Dad giving himself thumbs-up for successfully transporting himself, Mom, a 3-mo baby, six checked bags, three carry-ons, an infant car seat, and stroller 2,800 miles. Now just 20 miles to go in one of the worst storms of the season... Dad said, "Hmm, maybe leaving California wasn't such a good idea!"

Snow coming down on the way to the hotel. Dad got us safely there, despite Mom's henpecking ("You're going too fast! You're too close to the next car! You're not in the lane!")

Mom and Max stayed in the car while Dad checked into the hotel. Here is a shot of snow quickly accumulating on the windshield.

March 2 (8 am, from the hotel room window): Dad leaving for his first day of work. He was one of the few people to show up and was told later to go home. Snow day!

March 2 (8.30 am): Max's first morning as an East Coast baby.
