Week 12 - Baby on the Move

March 1 (the early morning of the big move from CA to VA): We stuck post-its on the door to remind us of last minute items to pack...

Max's in-flight entertainment and food service

Max comforting Dad during the first landing in Chicago.

Our future fighter pilot? The pilot awarded Max his first wings for being such a good baby during the San Francisco-Chicago flight.

"Did someone say something about landing the plane in the Potomac River??"

Arriving at Dulles (Virginia), with 500 bags and a baby.

March 2 (just after midnight): Dad giving himself thumbs-up for successfully transporting himself, Mom, a 3-mo baby, six checked bags, three carry-ons, an infant car seat, and stroller 2,800 miles. Now just 20 miles to go in one of the worst storms of the season... Dad said, "Hmm, maybe leaving California wasn't such a good idea!"

Snow coming down on the way to the hotel. Dad got us safely there, despite Mom's henpecking ("You're going too fast! You're too close to the next car! You're not in the lane!")

Mom and Max stayed in the car while Dad checked into the hotel. Here is a shot of snow quickly accumulating on the windshield.

March 2 (8 am, from the hotel room window): Dad leaving for his first day of work. He was one of the few people to show up and was told later to go home. Snow day!

March 2 (8.30 am): Max's first morning as an East Coast baby.
